Dr Pepper is moving its Texas headquarters to The Star development in Frisco.

SAN ANTONIO (Texas News Radio) — Dr Pepper is moving its Texas headquarters to The Star development in Frisco.

The Dallas Morning News reports the company will be relocating from Plano into a new 350,000 square foot building in the complex just west of the Dallas North Tollway.

It should open in 2021.

The company said it did receive incentives from the Frisco Economic Development Corporation to help make the move happen.

The Star is owned by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The team uses the complex for its headquarters and training facility.

SAN ANTONIO (Texas News Radio) — With the Texas legislative session underway, Dr Pepper is looking to become the state’s official soft drink.

The Plano-based beverage started a petition on Change.org to push the state lawmakers to make it happen.

“Like any Texan, Dr Pepper has only the deepest pride and appreciation for its home state,” the company said in the post.  “Now Dr Pepper is calling on its passionate fans to support its quest to become the first Official Soft Drink of the Lone Star State.  Dr Pepper has a rich, storied history in the great state of Texas and being named its official soft drink would mark a new milestone for the beloved brand to celebrate for generations to come.”

Texas does not have an official beverage, though Dr Pepper may have to fend off Austin-based Big Red to win some votes in the legislature.

SAN ANTONIO (Texas News Radio) — A Texas college student has a tricked out dorm room, all thanks to Whataburger.

The San Antonio-based burger chain says Enrique Alcoreza was a resident assistant last year at Trinity University in San Antonio and decided to lighten the mood in the hallway with some handmade Whataburger signs and logos.

The burger chain decided to thank Alcoreza for his fandom and decked out his room with the finest selections from the Whataburger design studio.

Whataburger says many of the items featured are available to purchase at the Whataburger online store, though some items were custom designed for this project.

H-E-B will now deliver beer and wine in under an hour

SAN ANTONIO (Texas News Radio) — Have a sudden need for beer and wine?  H-E-B says it now has you covered.

The San Antonio-based company says the Austin company it bought in February, Favor, will deliver the beverages in over 30 cities for with no delivery fee.

The service is available across the greater areas of San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and Houston.

“The combination of H-E-B and Favor continues to be a win for Texans,” said Jag Bath, Favor CEO and H-E-B chief digital officer. “Delivering almost anything in under an hour is what Favor is built on, and now with H-E-B, we are excited to add the new category of beer and wine delivery to Favor’s on-demand platform.”

Customers are look through options curated by H-E-B’s expert wine and beer team or can request custom beer and wine items through the Favor app.

“This new service truly delivers the best customer experience – a fast, convenient solution with the best selection at the everyday low price our customers expect,” said Martin Otto, H-E-B chief operating officer. “H-E-B and Favor joined forces to support and accelerate our collective growth throughout Texas, and this is only the beginning of what’s to come from our powerful partnership.”

Beer and wine selections will vary, depending on the local store’s offering.

The service is available now.  There is no delivery fee, but the company says it will require a “Runner tip” of at least $2.
