Every year, there are nearly 16,000 dryer fires in the United States, which have caused property damage, serious injuries and even deaths. Most dryer fires are traced back to lint build up in a dryer vent.
Since it’s not something we often think of, a San Antonio company has developed some new technology that will alert you when there is a build of of lint.
It’s called “Dry-Safer” and CEO Jack Terrazas says it’s started with an idea from an appliance repairman.
“He saw so many overheated dryers from lint build up and he wanted a solution.”
Terrazas says after years of research and development, they were able to come up with “Dry-Safer”
“We sell them for $49.99. Not a big price to pay to prevent a fire.”
He says “Dry-Safer” is easy to install. It just twist onto the back of the dryer.
“Then you reattach the vent house, push the dryer back in place and you’re ready to go.”
