SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A San Antonio couple believes their East Side restaurant is haunted and they have the video.
April Ward told KTSA News that they recently had strange occurrences at OnLive Hall of Fame Cafe. She and her husband Joe would find the barricade ropes on the floor when they arrived at the restaurant in the morning, so they viewed the footage from the surveillance cameras in hopes of finding out who was breaking into the place at night and moving things around.
“We saw this image that was throwing them (the ropes) around,” she said. The ropes form a barricade in front of the ‘wall of fame’ featuring photos of famous musicians of days gone by.
Her husband came up with an explanation.
“We kinda freaked out at that point because he said those are ghosts, and I’m like, ‘No, that can’t be,’” Ward said.
She and her husband shut down the restaurant last Thursday and consulted a paranormal expert.
“I didn’t know if these were evil spirits or what,” said Ward.
They stayed up one night with the paranormal investigator who set up special cameras and other equipment.
“We could see a little boy at the end of the counter. He stands there for awhile and there’s another on the other side that looks like a grownup,” Ward said.
The little boy was named Peter, and he was accompanied by four or five others. The paranormal expert determined they were friendly ghosts, and the Wards reopened the cafe on East Houston at Gevers this week.
“We’re just kind of going with the flow. I’m still a little nervous and I sleep with the light on,” said Ward.
